Oreo Truffles

If you know me, then you know I LOVE to find little projects to do with my kids whether it be arts and crafts or making something super yummy! Right before Christmas, we decided to make our first ever Oreo Truffles... They were so yummy that Oreo Truffles turned into Mint Chocolate Chip Truffles, Brownie Truffles, and some other kind that I cannot remember. We even made Truffles for each kid in all three of their classes... Two per child! We made OVER 90 Truffles the night BEFORE the kids Holiday Parties at school! Who does this? Obviously, our family does. It was an insanely busy night that ended up with just me and Bre in the kitchen. We made so many that neither of us had any interest in eating them for a couple days. Haha.

We made ours off of a Kraft recipe that I found and added our own touches to the recipe.

How we made our Oreo Truffles

You will need:
4o Oreo Cookies, crushed in a bowl
4 oz of Cream Cheese
Candy Coating - Chocolate, White Chocolate, or Vanilla (We found that the Kroger brand works best and the Vanilla one is a super amazing combination with the Oreo's)

  • Put 1/4 of the cookie crumbs to the side, you will need these at the end
  • Mix the crushed cookie crumbs and cream cheese together. Make sure it is all thoroughly mixed
  • Roll into 1-inch balls and place on wax-paper covered cookie sheet
  • Place cookie sheet in refrigerator for about 30 minutes to harden them (I promise this makes the next part MUCH easier)
  • Heat Candy Coating either in a bowl over a pot of boiling water or in the microwave in 45 second intervals until completely melted. If you heat it for too long, you will need to start it over with fresh chocolate
  • Next, pull the cookie sheet out of the refrigerator
  • Dip the Oreo balls into the melted chocolate, place back on cookie sheet. Drop a few Oreo crumbs that you put to the side over the truffle before it hardens
  • Place cookie sheet back into the refrigerator for 45 minutes to 1 hour
Now, enjoy!!!
