Little Miss Turns 8......

I know I say this every time one of our kids steps in age, but seriously, where has the time gone? It just seems surreal to me how old my kids are! I cannot believe that we just celebrated Caitlin’s 8th birthday…

We had a small party for her at our house the day before her actual birthday, 22 January 2011. Kids took over our house that day (and a group of girls that night). They had so much fun! Luckily, the weather was awesome! Warm enough for the windows and doors to be open and everyone to be in and out. She ended up with so many toys, outfits, makeup, and so much more. “Papa” Tom surprisingly ordered her a jumping balloon for over 24 hours. That was his gift to her. I do have to say, probably the best one! The kids stayed on it until it was time to stay inside and get ready for bed, but were back out the following morning… where they stayed until the guys showed up to pick the balloon up.

Thank you to everyone that came out for her special day! We all truly appreciate everything! She had a fabulous time! And to the ones that are just too far away, thank you so much for the warm wishes, gifts, and cards! You all made her day incredibly special!

Now, onto planning Nicholas’ big 4th birthday! Now really, where did the time go?

The Plane Will Take Me....

"I'm going to the bus stop in front of here so the bus can take me to the airport. Then I am getting on a plane and telling them to take me to Georgia to my Mawmaw's house. I'm moving in with her..."

So, the above is a statement made from our very verbal and hardheaded seven year old, Caitlin. I was out at Wal-Mart today while Kevin and the kids were at home. I had to pick up a few things for our enchilada dinner tonight. When I got home I was able to quickly tell it had been a chaotic hour that I was gone. Kevin was running around dealing with the kids and the girls had their "I hate the world" looks, and Nicholas was just running all over the place terrorizing anyone that was in his path! As I have said many times before, our house in nonstop at almost all times! Yet, we would not have it any other way. Okay, let me backtrack on that one. There are times that we would do almost anything for a short time of peace and quiet! Haha. Anyhow, back to my original story. Kevin told Caitlin to do something and she refused to listen. He continued and explained to her that if she choose to not listen then she would end up getting a spanking. Well, I don't think she liked that comment from Kevin. She turned to him and said,"I'm going to the bus stop in front of here so the bus can take me to the airport. Then I am getting on a plane and telling them to take me to Georgia to my Mawmaw's house. I'm moving in with her." Wow! Our child is already using this one! Though, there is no surprise that it came from Caitlin before the other two!

Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed 4th of July weekend!

"Dad...My Pen Has..."

All you can do is laugh... I walked into the bathroom tonight to find a pen wearing a Polly Pocket dress. In so many other houses, people would find this definitely different and totally out of place. Not so much in our house. Though, this was something I had never come across in our bathroom before now. All I could do was look at Kevin, with probably a puzzeled expression. He just started to laugh and proceeded to tell me a story. Earlier that evening, Caitlin walked up to Kevin with a smile on her face and said, "Daddy look, my pen has boobs..." Where do kids come up with these things? Haha. There is never a dull moment in our house.

This is My Country

The first grade classes performed on PTA night. They sang around eight songs for the parents and families. As always, they were all cute. We have a song that recorded from Britt's iphone, called "This is My Country". Caitlin is towards the top more near the left hand side. She has a red bow in her hair on the right side of her head.

Happy 6th Birthday Caitlin

We celebrated Caitlin's 6th birthday on the actual date. It was a small party for her with some close friends. Kevin spent it in CA at NTC preparing for the upcoming deployment. Following the party Brittney had to be admitted into the hospital. With this all happening Britt tried to make her party as fun as possible. She had two cakes, one that a friend made for her. Turned out great! Our little birthday girl had a great time and loved all her presents! Thanks to those that attended and to all the birthday wishes to Caitlin on her special day!

Caitlin learned to ride with no training wheels!!!

On Monday, February 19 Caitlin decided to hop on Breanna's bike and take off with no training wheels! At that point we took the training wheels off her bike. After that, she hopped on hers and stayed on for quite awhile! She did great! At first, Kev had to chase her up and down the street in front of our house. I think she ended up being faster than him! It seemed to make Kevin tired after chasing her up and down the street! They had a blast together! Of course Bre had fun being a big sister and being able to help Caitlin ride!

On Tuesday, February 20, the high risk doctor we are seeing through this pregnancy informed us that if the contractions and labor gets any worse, he will go ahead and do the c-section now. We were worried about Brittney only being 33 weeks, but Dr. Harlass has complete confidence that Nicholas will be okay if it has to be done. If we do end up having him early, he will more than likely spend a week or so in NICU. But, in the end he will be okay. Pray for us that we make it to the surgery date! Less than four weeks if we can wait that long! We are hoping we can. Last week was just a real rough week with the preterm labor.

Caitlin's 4th Birthday Party

Caitlin turned four this year, so hard to believe! Our little girl is getting so big! Time sure does fly when kids are in the picture. Caitlin decided she wanted her birthday party to be held at Chuck E Cheese this year. It was a smaller one since we are still fairly new to the area, but the kids and adults ended up having a great time! I think the dad's played more games than the kids! Thankfully, Kevin was home to celebrate her birthday this year. It is the first one he has been home for since he enlisted in the Army, so needless to say, it is the first one ever! Caitlin loved it!
